Last week we shared with you Top Makeup Trends of 2021. This week, we’d like to share with you our Top Sellers of 2021!

As you know, BuyMeBeauty specializes in finding discontinued and hard-to-find makeup products. But we also sell tons of great makeup (not yet discontinued) at great prices.

Read along as we discuss our hottest discontinued lipstick shades, top eyebrow makeup products, best-selling skincare, and more!

1. Top Lipsticks

BuyMeBeauty prides itself for carrying a TON of discontinued lipstick shades. Some of these colors have been discontinued for half a decade or more! Sometimes the product has been replaced by a new formula or has a new packaging, but most often brands have simply stopped production.

In 2021, BuyMeBeauty’s top selling lipsticks were Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs, Revlon Moon Drops and L’Oreal Colour Riche.

Maybelline’s Color Sensational The Buffs collection has not been discontinued yet. However, you might find the color 910 Bare All difficult to find in stores. It is likely it has been discontinued, but BuyMeBeauty was able to add to its inventory in early 2021.

The Buffs collection has great nudes and earthy tones that suit various skin tones. Moreover, earthy tones were trending last year so this lipstick’s popularity makes total sense.

The Revlon Moon Drops lipstick is a customer favorite. Every year, we get thousands of visitors searching for this elusive collection. The product was discontinued by Revlon nearly a decade ago and there is no known substitute other than the Super Lustrous collection which keeps changing and updating formulas and colors.

BuyMeBeauty is probably one of the few (if not the only) places you will find shades like 706 24K Orange, 700 Crystal Cut Coral or 702 Blase Apricot.

FUN FACT: Most of our top selling Moon Drops shades are all in the orange/coral color family. We’ve been told by customers that it’s hard to find orange lipsticks that are flattering, which is why they love Moon Drop so much. It’s creamy, long-lasting, buildable, and totally flattering!

The L’Oreal Colour Riche collection, like The Buffs, hasn’t exactly been discontinued. Shades have been changed overtime as well as the packaging. The collection has also been expanded and now has sub-collections and limited editions, etc.

BuyMeBeauty has a lot of those exclusive shades such as Freida’s Red and Julianne’s Nude. But the top-selling shade of 2021 was 286 The Queen’s Kiss. A beautiful mauve that suits most skin tones. Not long ago, we actually offered this lipstick as a free gift with purchase for a limited time. Stay tuned for more offers like this one in the future!

2. Top Face Makeup

Even though we were still wearing face coverings in 2021, there was still great demand for face makeup products. Below you will find a short list of our top Foundations. Spoiler alert: It’s all about anti-aging properties and on-the-go coverage!

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Firming Makeup and the L’Oreal Infallible Advanced Never Fail Makeup are both discontinued fan-favorites. One targets fine lines and wrinkles while the other works to reduce signs of fatigue.

On the other hand, we have Revlon’s 2-in-1 Compact makeup and L’Oreal’s True Match Compact Makeup, both great on-the-go products that are easy to apply and last a long time.

We believe these results are a perfect representation of two different customer lifestyles and needs.

3. Top Eye Makeup

Next are our top eye makeup products. Eye makeup definitely took center stage in mid-2020 and we’ve seen this trend continue in 2021.

If we were to summarize the results in one word it would be: Classy. With the products on this list, you’d be able to create a classy, natural look without much effort. Let’s take a closer look.

Our top-selling eyeliners were L’Oreal’s Infallible 24hr Gel Eyeliner and Revlon’s ColorStay Eyeliner. Both products have been discontinued. However, you might find the Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in stores with a new look. We’ve been told the formula has not changed but customers still prefer the old packaging.

It’s interesting to compare these two products because they function quite differently. For instance, the L’Oreal eyeliner comes with a brush that you’ll use to line your eyes, while the Revlon eyeliner works like a traditional pencil and it comes with a built-in sharpener.

Not unlike the foundations, these eyeliners also target different customer preferences.

We found our top 3 best-selling eyeshadows of 2021 very interesting. Here we have Revlon Luxurious Color Diamond Lust, Maybelline ExpertWear Duos and Almay Pure Blends. Both Revlon and Almay’s shadows have been discontinued. However, you might be able to find Maybelline ExpertWear in stores but it will look different and the shades you’re familiar with may have changed completely.

Once again, all three products are quite different. The Diamond Lust collection has shimmery shades that sparkle when the light shines. While the Maybelline ExpertWear duos come with two complementary shades so that you can create your own pro look. On the other hand, the Almay Pure Blends is a hypoallergenic, eco-friendly product with a sheer finish – great for subtle looks.

Despite all these differences though, the number 1 best-selling shade for each color were 110 Starry Pink, 50D Lasting Lilac and 245 Lavender respectively. And isn’t that funny? It was definitely the year of Pinks and Purples.

Next we have our best brow products. And let us tell you, brow products were in great demand in 2021. Our list has TONS of eye brow products. All targeting the same need but functioning slightly differently.

For instance we have the Milani Brow Shaping Kit, which customers swear by. Many have told us it is the best brow kit they’ve ever tried and are greatly disappointed when we tell them it has been discontinued by Milani. BuyMeBeauty has it in Light, Medium and Dark. But they’re selling fast!

Next we have a Maybelline Brow Crayon and a Milani Brow Pen. Both products work similarly but it all depends on your brow needs. For example, the Brow Tint Pen is best used to fill in spots and gaps, while the Pomade Crayon works best on thinning brows.

For those with unruly brow hair, the Maybelline Sculpting Brow Mascara would be best.

4. Top Skincare

Last, but not least, are our top skincare products of 2021. The following short list consists of discontinued products, all of them.

First we have our discontinued travel sized skin perfectors L’Oreal Youth Code Pore Vanisher and Elizabeth Arden Millenium Energist Revitalizing Emulsion. The Pore Vanisher minimizes the appearance of pores and keeps your skin hydrated, while the Revitalizing Emulsion gives your complexion a refreshing boost. Both can be used under makeup for added skin protection.

Next is the Lumene Bright Now Vitamin C Night Cream, another discontinued fan-favorite. This night cream has it all! It’s a moisturizer, detoxifying cream with anti-aging, brightening properties. With a customer rating of 5.0/5.0 it’s clear to see that this is a holy grail product.

Since eye makeup is still preferred over face makeup due to face covering requirements, it comes to no surprise to see that the top makeup remover was our Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads. You might find this product in stores, but the packaging version that we have in stock has been discontinued by Almay.
