Eyeliner Tips and Tricks

Applying eyeliner can be a bit tricky. Our beauty experts wanted to share some tips and tricks on how to achieve the perfect eyeliner application every time regardless of the type of eyeliner used.

THE LIQUID

While liquid eyeliners have become more popular for achieving the "cat eye" look, they're notoriously difficult to apply. Getting the perfect look is as easy as one two and three.

Step 1. If you have a steady hand you free-hand this whole look. If you need a little guidance try using tape to help make a perfect line. Start in the outer corner of your eyelid and draw an angled line going halfway towards the end of your brow. 

Step 2. At the end of that pointed tip you're going to carefully draw a line going to the inner corner of your eyelid. follow the shape of you eye for guidance.

Step 3. Color it in. 

THE SHADOW

If you prefer a softer, more air-brushed look, using an eyeshadow as a liner can produce stunning results.

Step 1: Using your shadow of choice, gently apply the eyeshadow right above your top lashes. You can curve it out or keep it only on your eyelid. This can be a one-step process, or two, depending what you are comfortable with.

Step 2: Now softly blend upward to give it an airbrush effect.

THE GEL

Gel liners are perfect for achieving a bold look that looks great either at the office or dinner on Saturday night.

Step 1: Carefully draw a line from the inner corner to the outer corner of your eyelid. You can also apply your eyeliner below your bottom waterline to give yourself a more dramatic look.

THE PENCIL

In a hurry or prefer a simple look? The pencil liner is a classic and go-to favorite since it's only a one-step process.

Step 1: Fill in your bottom waterline. If you want a bolder look go over a second time.
