How to: Clean your makeup brushes

Just like makeup, brushes are also a girls best friend. They are what makes our makeup apply on so effortlessly. What many don’t realize is that if you don’t take care of your brushes they can carry a lot of dirt and oils that we do not want on our face. So what do you do? Well, our beauty experts want to share with you 5 easy steps that you can do at home to keep your makeup brushes clean and ready to use.

Step One: Rinse your brushes with water. Putting the brush directly under running water can ruin your brush, so try taking a little water with your hand(s) and rinse it that way.

Step Two: Cleanse- Use a small amount of Shampoo and lather onto brushes. We recommend using a baby shampoo because it is a lighter formula but any shampoo of your choice will work. (Lather, Rinse and Repeat until water runs clear)

Step Three: Disinfect- Mix water and a small amount of white vinegar into a small bowl. Mix the brushes in the bowl for about 2 minutes. (remember not to submerge fully). Rinse with water. 

Step Four: Dry- Use a dry towel and lay all of your brushes flat on the towel overnight.

Step Five: Repeat- Cleaning your brushes every week will keep the germs away from your face and makeup; as well as giving your brushes a longer life span.
