Top 7 Olympics Inspired Picks 2016
The 2016 Olympic Games are finally here. Rio has been witness of many accomplishments that have left the world speechless so far. The USA Gymnastics team, also known as "The Final Five", have been one of many to bring home the gold in a mesmerizing, fabulously flawless way. Artistic gymnastics is as much about athletic abilities and coordination as it is about looks and visual performance. Through-out the years we've seen beautiful leotard costumes and matching makeup to highlight a color story that would later take away everybody's breath.
This year's USA's Final Five aren't an exception. Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, Gabby Douglas and Madison Kocian took the gold with a marvelous performance achieving solid 15.0+ points each with difficult vaults and sky soaring jumps. However, these lovely ladies also happen to have sported one of the cutest most natural makeup looks of the night. We've chosen a Top 7 product list based on those looks so you too can look fab when going to the gym for the gold!
Face
Sweat, heat, dust, jumping, flipping; these ladies kept their makeup on through-out the whole routine. Madison Kocian's flawless skin looked beautifully highlighted under the strobe lights and the best way to achieve that perfect-looking skin begins with a good foundation. After cleansing and priming your face, is important to apply the right foundation to even out your skin tone and beautify imperfections.
With Revlon's ColorStay makeup pump for combo/oily skin you'll fight off the sweat and secreting oil avoiding cakey looks and fine lines. Comes in a variety of skin tones and its formula lasts 24 hours!
Waterproof foundation might seem hard to find but it's all about the layers we apply afterwards. With Maybelline's Cover Stick Concealer, you'll give your foundation extra durability and a much needed waterproof coating. Comes in a easy-to carry little stick perfect for quick retouches.
Even though exercising pumps up the color in your face, doesn't mean you can't add an additional highlighting touch of blush to your cheek bones, nose, and chin. With Nars' Blush you'll be able to get that soft and smooth application and blend it easily with the foundation and concealer.
Eyes
One of the most mesmerizing things from artistic gymnastics makeup, is the beautiful eye makeup they have on. Most of the time it matches the team's outfit or the country's flag. Simone Biles was seen wearing beautiful glittery lids in red, white and blue, a thin line of eyeliner and extra dark mascara.
With L'Oreal's Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner you'll get perfect lines without much effort and a 16-hour duration. Water and smudge proof and no clumps. You can even go wild with cat eyes like Laurie Hernandez was flawlessly wearing.
To get the beautiful lashes just apply Revlon's Lash Potion Volume & Length to get extra long and strong lashes. Keeps them healthy and is everything-you-can-think-of-proof. Don't forget to curl your lashes before applying!
For the magical touch of glitter apply the creamy-smooth formula of L'Oreal Infallible 24h Eye Shadow. Comes in beautiful glittery colors and is easy to apply with a thin brush applicator or just the fingers.
Lips
Most of the female athletes we've seen so far have been wearing thin lines of eyeliner or some sort of highlighting foundation, most were loyal to nude and subtle lips. However, Gabby Douglas was wearing a very complementing mauve (almost wine) lipstick color that seemed to stay on for the whole night. We think that the best way to go with lips during excising are lip stains. They tint your lips ever-so-slightly and stay on for a long time.
Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, not only is a lip stain but also a buttery balm. With this you'll get both, hydrating protection and beautiful subtle colors.
